¿POR QUÉ ES IMPORTANTE?
Para muchos es un término de dominio por parte de los profesionales en plomería e ingenieros. En realidad es un concepto muy fácil de comprender.
Una operación anti-sifón previene el retorno de un flujo de agua que de forma no intencional se recircula desde un medio impuro hacia las líneas de agua fresca en las tuberías de la casa. Este es un efecto causado por una presión negativa que tiene su origen en caídas de presión del sistema de acueducto o de las bombas en complejos habitacionales.
Las posibles impurezas en el agua pueden ser causadas por limpiadores, insecticidas o material orgánico, adicionado a algún depósito de agua como los tanques del sanitario, tanques altos o piletas. Estos elementos pueden representar una amenaza al circular de manera imprevista en los circuitos de agua potable, a menos de asegurar dispositivos anti-sifón que impidan este fenómeno.
Las válvulas de llenado deben cumplir con los códigos de aprobación anti-sifón gravados bajo relieve sobre el cuerpo de la misma.
